These campuses serve the counties of Pickens, Anderson, and Oconee. The college is affiliate with the nearby Clemson University, and it allows students who barely miss the cut at Clemson to enroll at Tri-County and transfer to Clemson after completing their two years with TCTC.
Technical colleges were established in South Carolina during the early 60’s to develop and serve the state as well as to be used a tool for economic development. TCTC was founded in 1962, and it has since grown into a comprehensive two year community and technical college. The school receives an average enrollment of around 7,000 students from the nearby counties.
The school offers majors in more than 70 fields of study. The main campus is found at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Tri-County Tech fields teams in basketball and golf. The college competes in the Carolinas Junior College Conference of the NJCAA or National Junior College Athletic Association. The school colors are white and red and the school nickname are the Hawks.
